Important Information for Filmmakers

The Music Business Institute presents a symposium on Independent Filmmaking called the Cutting Edge Film Workshop The seminar is designed both for aspiring and professional filmmakers. The seminar covers both legal and practical aspects of the films. The legal sessions are Mandatory Continuing Legal Education qualified. The practical sessions cover screen writing, distribution and the critiquing of films by a panel of film experts. Special panels are presented for those seeking to know more about Louisiana's growing film industry, how to get in it and how to take advantage of the film incentives. For attorneys seeking Continuing Legal Education credits topics will include everything from the acquisition of literary rights, negotiating music synchronized licenses, film financing, domestic and international distribution to contracts negotiations. Also Music professionals will gain information on how to get their music in films.
